What kind of work we do
Our efforts include researching current child safety concerns, monitoring trends and information related to online risks, and educating the community about potential dangers children may encounter. We help raise awareness about online safety, including the importance of understanding apps, digital platforms, and the ways predators may attempt to target vulnerable children. Through community outreach, education, and sharing important information, we strive to give parents, caregivers, and community members the tools they need to make informed decisions and better protect children. We believe prevention starts with awareness. By staying informed, encouraging open conversations, and promoting vigilance, we empower communities to act as a united front against those who would harm our children.
Success story: working together to protect a child
One of our most important missions is helping bring awareness to situations where children may be at risk. In one case, our team identified concerning communication between an adult male and a minor. The individual was attempting to establish contact and arrange a meeting with what he believed to be a 15-year-old girl in Little Rock, Arkansas. For the safety and integrity of the situation, specific details are intentionally left confidential. Our team’s role was to document and monitor the communication while following proper procedures. Once enough information was gathered, the matter was turned over to local law enforcement, who took over the investigation and handled the situation through the appropriate channels. Midsouth Predator Team 1 is not law enforcement, and we do not replace the work of trained investigators. Our role is to bring awareness, help identify potential risks, preserve information responsibly, and support the process through collaboration with official channels.
